Weather: Sunny for the majority of the day today, with increasing clouds in the late afternoon. Rain showers at the end of the day. Temperatures ranged from 15-19 degrees C. Winds were initially light out of the south becoming stronger as the day progressed. Raptor Observations: A steady flow of migrants today. The count was mostly Sharp-shinned Hawks, some of which were really up high. Interestingly, today's Sharpies were coming overhead in small groups as if they had been soaring together and then all streamed out at the same time. Non-raptor Observations: Noteworthy numbers of Blue Jays (24430), American Goldfinches (1283), and Monarchs (119) today. A very nice foraging flock around the base of the tower contained 14 species of warblers.
