There was a decent assortment of shorebirds this morning including American
Golden Plover, Black-bellied (Grey) Plover, Semipalmated Plover, Killdeer,
Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs, Solitary Sandpiper, Semipalmated Sandpiper,
Pectoral Sandpiper, Wilson's Snipe; Barn and Tree Swallows still remain,
Northern Shoveler, Northern Pintail and a couple of female Hooded Mergansers
were present among the hundreds of Canada Geese and Mallards. We did not see
any of the normally ubiqitous Wood Ducks. The surprise of the day was a lone
Common Nighthawk at 11:00, which for some reason was subjected to harrassment
by Killdeers.

When coming from the Stratford area go past the Tim Hortons and turn left at
the first lights. Go past the sports field and park at the berm. Most of the
shorbirds are in the first pond.
