Weather: Light drizzle, turned to steady rain throughout the morning hours. Weather radar suggested this would continue throughout the day, so the count ended at 10:30 am. Raptor Observations: There was little or no movement in the morning. A brief break in the weather saw three individuals move through. Rain kept anything from moving past the first full hour of counting. Non-raptor Observations: During the brief period when there was no rain or just a light drizzle there was a good movement of Tree Swallows and Purple Martins past the tower. A single Chimney Swift was noted, as well as one Ruby-throated hummingbird. There were quite a few warblers chipping in the area around the tower, but the weather kept them hidden for the most part. Predictions: With some clear skies and north wind, a decent movement of raptors can be expected on Sunday, as long as the showers hold off. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Sarah Rupert ([email protected]) Holiday Beach Migration Observatory information may be found at: http://hbmo.org/ _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
