Among the 10 species of shorebirds present at Tilbury lagoons this morning were
5 Long-billed Dowitchers. They were all adults and most were undergoing some
wing molt already. There were also 8 or so Short-billed Dowitchers, including a
few juveniles and all of the expected hendersoni subspecies. Conditions are
still looking good for rare southern wading birds. Today there were ~ 30
individuals of 4 species of herons/ egrets. Worth checking out if you are in
the area!
Directions: Exit 56 from the 401. Travel west and turn right (north) onto
edgefield sideroad. After a km the road ends, and turn right. The lagoons are
on the right after a km.

Good birding,
