Repair work is being done on the main train line between Montreal and Toronto
and interfering with normal access to the marsh where the Glossy Ibis is. They
do not want us using it for a week and will tow cars parked in the way. The
access road belongs to CN and they have always been very good about people
using it. There is another way in if you do not mind walking through some tall
grass. The old spur line crosses highway #2 just west of where you would
normally turn off the highway and onto Richmond Drive. There is a parking area
on the south side of highway #2 that is not far from the track. You then
cross the road and walk north along the old train line. It isn't too long a
walk and you may well see some woodland birds. This is a good area in
migration.

I do not know if the work will be going on during the weekend.
