TodayKarl Dix and I went looking for hooded warblers on breeding territory in 
St. Johns Conservation Area in Thorold.We found two singing males in the 
parking lot. It was far too easy.
Directions from QEW: exit 57, Vineland,(Victoria Avenue) South on Victoria 
Avenue towards Niagara Escarpment away from lake. Approximately 3.6 km to the 
3rd set of lights at the intersection of 
King Street/Regional Road 81 and keep going south up the ancient glacial Lake 
Iroquois beach edge and Victoria is now called Regional Road 24. Left on Hwy 20 
at lights. Left on North Pelham Road, which turns into Hollow Road. Follow 
Hollow Road through the ā€œSā€ bends to Barron Road. Park entrance is on Barron 
Road just north of the corner of Barron and 
Hollow Road.
