Mid-afternoon today, Rob Dobos, Dave Don and I found a female Summer Tanager in the northeast corner of Sherwood Forest Park in Burlington. The bird was found just east of the north bridge which crosses the creek and spent its time feeding between here and the fence that borders the railway tracks here.
Directions: QEW to Burloak Drive, then south on Burloak to Prince William Drive, right on Prince William Drive then right again on Fothergill. Follow it around into the long driveway that enters the park. If you are parking in the lot that borders the woodlot, walk north towards the rail track and find the hollow that is near a large pile of stacked old branches and trees just east of the bridge. Cheers, Cheryl Edgecombe _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
