At around 2:05pm Erika, Georg, Ingrid Hentsch, as well as three other birders and myself saw the Le Conte's Sparrow in the same weedy field described by James Holdsworth.
Just a tip if your planning on "twitching" this bird, it spends a lot of time running and hopping along the ground so its a lot like looking for a mouse in the grass. (Directions by James Holdsworth) - From Vansittart, go north to 59 Hwy. Travel 1 km. Take Pittock Park Road east to the park gates. The park is not yet open, so park at the gate and walk in. Follow the paved road to the west. It will turn to gravel and pass over a creek that empties into Pittock Lake. Just west and north of the creek you will see an area of weedy meadow. The sparrow was here, mostly staying within about 50 m of the east thicket. Good luck, Brett Fried Ayr, Ontario Sent wirelessly from my BlackBerry device on the Bell network.
