Hello! I took a short walk with my binoculars along the Detroit River this afternoon at 4:30 between Bridges Bay Park and Saint Rose Park in Windsor (not far from Lakeview Park Marina).
In the river off Bridges Bay Park were a several Double-crested Cormorants and about 6 Bufflehead. Off St. Rose Park were two pairs of Red-breasted Mergansers, a couple of Bonaparte's Gulls and a raft of thirty or so Ruddy Ducks swimming with Lesser Scaups. A few Forster's Terns were in the air. Later, at about 5:30, I had two Great Egrets pass slowly overhead at Lakeview Park Marina. One settled in the top of a tree behind Westchester at the Lake condo buildings but didn't stay long.
