The Osprey have returned to their nesting site on the Bloomington Rd./404 Cell Tower. Both male and female were sitting on the top of the tower yesterday morning. For this year I first observed an Osprey at the tower last Thursday, April 7th. The Osprey may have difficulty setting up a new nest on the top of the tower because it appears the tower owners over the late fall/winter months removed the previous nest material and put meshing/wiring of some sort to hinder any future nest building. The same thing has been done on the Bethesda Rd/404 Cell Tower as well. Last year a 2nd pair of Osprey set up a nest there as well.
