Yesterday morning I went armed with my camera looking for the Hooded
Mergansers on the beaver pond at Sarsaparilla Trail (Heading south on
Richmond Rd, last parking lot on the right before Hunt Club West).

Five different Hooded Merganser mating pairs were present on the pond along
with a couple lone Buffleheads, a large flock of Ring Necked Ducks, and on
the far side of the pond was a kingfisher (possibly belted?)

I recommend arriving early, the Buffleheads were gone by 8:30am. The Hooded
Mergansers dwindled to only two pairs and moved to the far side of the pond
by 9:30am.

No sandhill crane...
