Hi All, Great birding today near Hillman Marsh, Wheatley, and Stoney Point. Two great Egrets right by the bridge near the Hillman Marsh Entrance. On the outskirts of Wheatley on Fox Run Road in the cornfields on the south side there was a large flock of mixed Blackbirds, Including Red-winged Blackbirds, Grackles, starling, and at least 4 Brewer's Blackbirds. Also included were 2 Rusty Blackbirds. There was also a Horned Lark on the road while I spied the blackbirds. There were large flocks of Blackbirds everywhere I went this afternoon. Then at Wheatley Harbour on Deer Run Rd at least 100 Bonaparte Gulls. Across the road in Muddy Creek there was a lone Pied-billed Grebe. Also some distant Hooded Mergansers. Also on Comber Sideroad towards Stony Point there is a flooded farm field on east side that held a large amount of Northern Pintails & American Wigeons & Mallards. At Tremblay Beach park at the end of at the end of St. Clair Rd east of Stoney Point had a few more to add to the list. I saw 3 Northern Flickers, 1 Eastern Phoebe and my first Hermit Thrush of the year. A really great few hours of birding. Can't wait for tomorrow!
