Hi I am sure many noticed that the report received this morning about the Eurasian Wigeon was dated Mar 29th. There have been no reports of this bird for a week, so I didn't want anyone to come down to Presqu'ile specifically for this bird if they didn't notice the date. BUT there are still good ducks about. Ring-necks by the 100s are particularly close to shore.
Directions: Presqu'ile Provincial Park exit 401 south at exit # 509 follow the signs to the park through Brighton. Observed this morning with others, thanks to the assistance of Fred Helleiner at approximately 10:40am off Bayshore Rd. Good variety of duck species still visible, also one common loon, all 3 mergansers. Redhead, Ring-necked ducks and Canvasbacks appeared to be the most numerous.
