At Col. Sam Smith Pk. (Kipling /Lakeshore) saw Western Grebe 11 a. m. with 6
Red-necked Grebes off south side of the western point, near a white marker
buoy. At least 600 Red-necked and 150 Horned Grebes around the park. Not sure
but thought I may have seen an Eared Grebe too in winter plumage in bay to the
east and south of the W Grebe.
Also, 2 GC Kinglets and many Song Sparrows. Also, 20 Tree Swallows, Canvasback
male, Ring-Necked Duck, American Wigeon, Gadwall.
At Humber Bay Pk. (Lakeshore & Park Lawn) could not find the Harlequin but did
see a male Purple Martin at 2.30 pm along the easternmost shore. Also, Eastern
Phoebe, Winter Wren.
