Hello Birders. There was a juvenile Parasitic Jaeger harassing gulls within the yacht club docking area at Col. Samuel Smith Park, Toronto on Fri. Apr. 1. Sorry for the late posting. Also present: the usual early spring ducks such as Common Merganser, Lesser Scaup, Bufflehead, Goldeneye, Long-tailed Ducks, American Wigeon. Red-necked and Eared Grebes in abundance as well. Perhaps of more interest was a Red-tailed Hawk which appeared to be building a nest in a tree north of and directly adjacent to the most southern parking lot. Col. Samuel Smith Park is at the Lake Ontario waterfront at the foot of Kipling Avenue in the west end of Toronto. Easiest access from Hwy. 401 is off Eglinton Avenue.
