I went to check the rookery at Lower Baseline Road and Trafalgar Road and
found many Great Blue Herons have returned to the nests. I counted ten with
binoculars but I'm sure more can be seen by scope. Some can also be seen
flying between nests.

The rookery is at the back of private property but visible from the road
with binoculars or a scope. Not great for photos due to distance and
branches.

The road is very busy and the shoulders are narrow, so be extremely careful
and be prepared to park in a wider spot then walk back.

Take Trafalgar Road North of Burnhamthorpe, turn right onto Lower Baseline
Road (it is the continuation of Eglinton). You can sometimes park on the
shoulder near the driveway of International Landscaping. About 20' east of
their driveway, look north to the forest at the back of the properties. You
will be able to see some empty nests in silhouette at the top but look below
them among the branches and you will find other nests occupied by herons.
