Ontbirders,

With the rush of mild air into the area, a few migrants are showing themselves. 
This morning a flock of 30 Greater Scaup checked out [and rejected] the very 
narrow and still mostly frozen stretch of the Thames River, west of Woodstock. 
This is Oxford's earliest record of Greater Scaup by 23 days! [I won't get into 
a polemic about what constitutes a 'migrant'; suffice to say these birds didn't 
winter locally.]

Horned Larks passed over throughout the morning with local birds displaying 
vigorously. A few days earlier, a flock of 60 American Robins was found, also 
along the Thames. I wouldn't be surprised if someone had a Killdeer today, as I 
was hoping for......
