Yesterday, 5 February, late in the afternoon, a juvenile Red-shouldered Hawk
was feeding on a dead Canada Goose at Pringle Creek on the west side of the
bridge on Brock Street in Whitby. This could be the same bird reported by
Geoff Carpentier on 22 January. Red-shouldered Hawks are quite rare in
winter. This bird looks striking. Please see:

Directions: From the 401 take Brock Street exit in Whitby (NOT Brock Road
exit in Pickering). Proceed south on Brock towards Lake Ontario. The small
bridge over Pringle Creek is before you reach Whitby Harbour waterfront.
