Hi birders, On Wed, Jan. 26 around 2:00 p.m., we saw a mixed flock of 50 Horned Larks, about 100 Snow Buntings and 12 Lapland Longspurs in a field eating corn. Directions: QEW Hamilton take Centennial Parkway, Hwy 20 south, go straight onto Reg Rd 56, until you come to Empire Corners. Turn right onto Haldimand Rd 9, continue on this road until you cross the Grand River. Continue until you come to Haldimand Rd 9 and McKenzie Rd. It was in this field on the right hand side that we saw the birds. In the village of Renton, we saw an adult Red Shouldered Hawk and about 4 Bluebirds. This was the intersection of Cockshutt Rd (Reg Rd 5) and Woodhouse Rd (Con 6).
