The 5 th Port Burwell-Vienna CBC was held yesterday Sunday Dec 19 2010 
(preliminary numbers)
82 Species were recorded on count day a new record over the past 4 years.
Highlights:
First time recordings are :Long-eared Owls (2)   Lapland Longspurs (69) 
Canvasback (1) and American Coot (4)
New high counts for numerous species where set (4 year average)
Bald Eagle 15 (4)  Wild Turkey 273 (35) Northern Flicker 12 (5)  Pilliated 
Woodpecker 16 (1)  Hairy Woodpecker 31 (13) Red Bellied Woodpecker 32 (13) 
American Crow 1272 (334)  Coopers Hawk 10 (1.7) Carolina Wren 7 (3.5) Brown 
Thrasher 2 (.25) American Tree Sparrow 1163 (174) Dark Eyed Junco 2098 (392) 
Pine Sisken 282 (8) Snow Bunting 1343 (168) 
Weather Conditions during count day :
Temperature ranged from -3 C to -6 C
Still water was frozen , moving water partly open 
Wind :W  0 to 5 km/hr
A Real thank you must go to 39 participating persons counting including much 
help from out site our area birders
Also the potluck was a great success
