Observation start time: 09:00:00
Observation end time: 15:30:00
Total observation time: 6.5 hours

Official Counter: Sarah Rupert

Observers: Bob Hall-Brooks, Dorothy McLeer, John Craft, Larry Ludwicki,
                  Paul Pratt

Visitors:
Visitors arrived just after the Golden Eagles passed over. Paul Pratt and
the Ojibway Birding group spent the morning in the park. Larry Ludwicki
spent most of the day on the tower. Several students from Dan Menhill's
lab were presenting doing research for their ornithology course including
Lauren and Heather LeBlanc. Bob Hall-Brooks, John Craft and Dorothy McLeer
all stopped by in the early afternoon.

Weather:
SW winds dominated through the count period, ranging for most of the day
from 10-15km/h. Skies were mainly clear, with high temperatures of 12C.

Raptor Observations:
There was very little movement of raptors today. Most raptors were
recorded before noon. Flight was low today, with most birds easily
identified with the naked eye or binoculars. The highlight of the day was
two immature Golden Eagles which both pass low over the tower around 10:30
am. There was one small flight of Turkey Vultures noted as well.

Non-raptor Observations:
It was also a slow day for most other migrants, the only exception were
large groups of European Starlings passing the tower.

Other highlights included
2 Wilson's Snipe (one was still hanging out in the pond by the tower)
10 Horned Lark
3 Tundra Swans
165 Black-capped Chickadees (still moving, but not in the numbers noted
over the past couple of weeks)
14 Rusty Blackbirds
Flocks of Pine Siskin

Predictions:
Continued S winds will likely produced similar results to today.
