This afternoon I saw the female Black-backed Woodpecker originally reported by Bruce DiLabio on Oct 12. She was working some dead trees about 20 feet from the boardwalk near the south-east corner of the boardwalk trail.
Yesterday, when I dipped on the woodpecker, there was a Winter Wren in almost the same place and a Merlin overlooking the picnic shelter.
