Hello,
I birded the KFN area on Amherst Island this afternoon, the shorebirds were in small numbers. On the bern pond there was one Hudsoniam Godwit and two White-rumped Sandpipers. Interesting point, on the sand point at the extreme eastern corner, I was able to photograph Golden-crowned Kinglets, Black-capped Chickadees, Yellow-rumped Warblers and Vesper Sparrows, all feeding in the short scrub grass. The fall migration sure seems to gather strange friends. Regard, Brian Young Directions: Amherst Island is approx 20 min west of Kingston and can be reached by ferry from the Loyalist Parkway. Ferry leaves the main land on the half hour and the island on the hour. The KFN property is private land and must be access by members only or by members with guest. _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
