As Ontbirds Coordinator I'd like to remind everyone of our posting
guidelines. They are sent to you when you subscribe to Ontbirds but they
can also be read on the web at the Ontario Field Ornithologists' website
at http://www.ofo.ca/information/ontbirdsguide.php
You can also follow the link to OFO at the bottom of every Ontbird post.
The purpose of our guidelines is to help readers learn of specific birds
that might be relocated. To that end we ask two things.
First your email should begin with a clear subject header that includes
the name of the principal species and a recognizable location. An
example might be "Cattle Egret near Long Point" just "Egrets" or "Egrets
on A Line" are not helpful.
We also ask that directions be included with every post. It can be very
disappointing to rush out after an exciting bird with a printout that
refers to past posts or a web link.
