Observation start time: 08:00:00
Observation end time: 16:00:00
Total observation time: 8 hours

Official Counter: Rob Payne

Observers: John Elliott, Rodney Laura

Visitors:
More than yesterday, most where regulars.

Weather:
Today was windy and cool with the storm front from the east coast lingering
overhead. Clouds cleared up in the afternoon and warmed things up nicely.
Still migration was slow in comparison to yesterday's record breaker.

Raptor Observations:
Only 5,148 Turkey Vultures where counted today, not bad historically, but a
dramatic change from yesterday. Hawk numbers where up, with less Turkey
Vultures to count. We had a total of 5,470 birds of 12 species, right on
par. Sharp-shinned Hawks continue to push with 156 counted for the day. A
single juvenile Northern Goshawk made for a 3 accipiter day. Red-shouldered
Hawks have increased to near normal numbers with 39, and Red-tailed Hawks
continue at 29.

Non-raptor Observations:
More Dark-eyed Juncos (Slate-colored) have moved into the count site. An
odd find was a recently deceased White-throated Sparrow, which provided a
great chance to study a really cool bird. Don't worry I washed my hands.

Predictions:
Tomorrow is supposed to warm up to 70f with the loss of the current low
pressure system. It should be sunny and good for hawk migration. If not, it
will be a beautiful day anyway.
