Birder's

Gull season opens on the east shore of Lake Superior.
A juvenile and an adult Lesser Black-backed Gull were present at the Sault
Landfill on Saturday(landfill area not open to public but gulls can readily be
found along the river or at the Dafter Landfill which does have public access
for gull study).
This is still a relatively rare species locally.
An omen of further and more interesting dark-mantled gulls to come this fall.
Posted my first entry of the season on Larusology.
