After missing the bird on Saturday, thanks to the detour in Shelburne
for the fiddlers' parade, Jean and I arrived at the site this morning
at about 10:30 and promptly saw the bird. He was just west of the
big Monticello sign and then worked his way down the wires and was
last seen in the apple tree behind the pole with the M48 bird box on
it. Great views.
Also seen, Belted Kingfisher and numerous Bobolinks.
For those coming from the north take Highway 89 west of Shelburne and
turn south on 21/22 Sideroad and go to the stop sign in Monticello
and turn right (west).
