Thursday, early afternoon, I heard what sounded like like a very jacked-up tufted titmouse going Peter Peter in Rattray Marsh -- this was on the north side of the boardwalk that curves off eastward from the foot of Bexhill. Coming back along there a half hour later, in almost the same place but on the south side, I found two Carolina Wrens making quite a racket. One flew up and very generously posed on the handrail. There's a peculiar Carolina Wren call that sounds Peter Peter-ish and is roughly as loud as the titmouse's, so I dunno.
Directions: Here are Wayne Renaud's directions to the marsh and the Bexhill: The Rattray Marsh map can be downloaded at " http://www.creditvalleyca.ca/recandleisure/maps/rattray.pdf". Bexhill Road runs off Lakeshore about 5 long blocks east of the village of Clarkson which is located along lakeshore just east of the intersection of Lakeshore Boulevard and Erin Mills Parkway. (I make it roughly midway between Clarkson and Port Credit.) -- joey slinger _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
