The Chuck-will's-widow began calling at 9:21 p.m. It stopped calling at 9:27 and I didn't hear it again until 9:51. It called at 10:04 for a few minutes and again at 10:20 when I left. Two Whip-poor-wills called from time to time. Just after it stopped calling at 9:27 I heard the "whirling growl" noise. Dan Bone, Fenelon Falls
