Hello Birders, Kyle Holloway and myself were surveying odonates at Hilton Falls Conservation Area when we heard and briefly saw a Louisiana Waterthrush on the Beaver Meadow Trail near the little wooden bridge across a stream created by a beaver dam. The trail is well signed and there are maps at intersections of the trails and the Visitor Centre. The little bridge is located close to the fork in the trail, on the left path. The bird was singing vigorously, close to the bridge.
Other birds seen include Yellow-billed Cuckoo and Yellow-bellied Sapsucker (uncommon breeder in area). There is a fee to use the park. Directions: >From Highway 401, take Highway 25 north to 5 Side Road (Campbellville Road). Go west on 5 Side Road for 5 km to park entrance. From Q.E.W. take Guelph Line north through Campbellville to Campbellville Road. Go east for 3 km to park entrance. Good Birding!
