A morning check of the woods inbetween the main car park and the high school at
Col. Sam Pk this a.m. produced a good mix of migrants.
The park is located at the foot of Kipling Avenue off Lakeshore.
Most birds were high in the trees.
Warblers : Yellow, Yellow-rumped, Blackburnian, Chestnut-sided, Nashville,
Black Thr. Green, Black & White, Magnolia, Tennessee, Bay Breasted, Hooded,
Common Yellowthroat, Parula and Ovenbird.
Also, several male and female Scarlet Tanagers, Great Crested Flycatcher, Least
Flycatcher, Veery, Wood Thrush, Orchard Oriole, Lincoln's Sparrow, etc.
A flock of Dunlin flew by and on the lake were many Long-tailed ducks, Gadwall,
Bufflehead, Hooded Merganser, C Loon and 7 Red-necked Grebes.
