We've observed, and photographed, numerous White Crowned Sparrows on
our hobby farm near Campbellford for the last 8 days or so. They
seem to be hanging around rather longer than I expected.
In addition, we have had an American Woodcock nesting (I have photos
of her on the nest), Chipping Sparrows nesting and now have Eastern
Bluebirds, House Wren, and Brown Thrasher setting up nests. If we
could just get the Starlings to move out of our eves, where they are
starting a second brood.
Also observed on the farm are Downey Woodpecker, Hairy Woodpecker,
Tree Swallows, Barn Swallows, American Goldfinch, Rose Breasted
Grosbeak, many American Robins & Red Winged Blackbirds, House
Sparrow, Grackles, Turkey Vultures, a pair of Wood Duck and a Red
Tailed Hawk.
Osprey are down the road in Campbellford.
