Hello all,

As many Ontbirds subscribers are by now aware, Chimney Swifts have
recently been added to the Species at Risk in Ontario List. Several
communities across the Province are preparing to monitor their local
chimneys this upcoming breeding season for Chimney Swift activity.
If there are any birders who would like to volunteer to assist with
the collection of Chimney Swift data in the vicinity of Cambridge,
please contact me privately by email. Alternatively you may contact
Elizabeth van Stam, Project SwiftWatch Co-ordinator at Bird Studies
Canada.

Monitoring is straight forward and requires minimal (though
consistent) effort. It is also kind of fun. I would urge birders in
all communities across the Province to get involved and to help better
determine what is in the best interests of our beloved Chimney Swifts!

Regards,

Robert Maciver
