At 7pm last night (Tuesday the 11th) Mike Savino watched a Fork-tailed Flycatcher near his home which is adjacent to Hillman Marsh on the East Beach Road near the parking lot at the extreme north end of East Beach Road. Micheal watched it at close range for several minutes before it flew south towards Pelee. Mike and Debora had Pelee's first record of Fork-tailed in the yard in December 2004 alive the first day and found deceased the next and Mike does know what one looks like. He described it very well and when I asked if he was sure it wasn't Scissor-tailed he adamantly described the bird as having mostly black above and all white below with a long forked tail.
Unfortunately I didn't receive Mikes voicemail until 10pm last night and couldn't access the internet until now. If it's still around the bird could be re-found in the tip area or along East or West Beach or even in the Onion Fields where the last record of Fork-tailed occurred in 2008. East Beach Road is accessed by driving east on concession road "C" off of Point Pelee Drive (road to the park gates entrance). Good luck!
