On our way to Pelee for the week-end, decided to go to the St Clair NWA (national wildlife area). Around 7:00 pm, in fields off nearby Jacob Road we found 1 Vesper Sparrow, some Horned Larks and 50+ Longspurs (a lifer for Jack)
Directions: from Tillbury, take highway 2 east to road 7 which goes toward Paincourt. Once you cross over the Thames at Prairie Siding, go straight on what becomes Jacob Road. This road eventually turns hard right. A few hundred metres before that bend, as you approach from Prairie Siding, there is a "grassy" field to your left and a row of cedar trees along the road to your right. We saw the birds on the grassy field, though some also flew to the other side of the road Jack and Rob Alvo Sent from my BlackBerry device on the Rogers Wireless Network _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
