This morning on the way to dropping my boy off at school I spotted a small
egret in a field in Amherstburg. Closer inspection revealed it to be a cattle
egret.
To get to the spot take County Road 20 South until you reach Alma St. Go left
(East) on Alma approx 2km until you reach Meloche Rd. Go right on Meloche
(South). You will see a graveyard on the right, the egret was opposite the
graveyard in the pasture near the pond on the left-hand side of the road. I
have seen this species here a few times in the past...
