Dear Eagle Beagles,
The Juvenile Golden Eagle took my breath away again yesterday, Wednesday, March 17th, flying over the Minesing Wetlands at approximately 2 PM near Concession 6 Sunnidale. Also observed were two stately adult Bald Eagles, several Rough-legged Hawks (both Dark and Light Morphs), Red-tailed Hawks and abundant waterfowl. Gathering calls of Canada Geese were punctuated by the faint tinkling of Horned Larks. A solitary Snow Bunting crossed my path on Strongville Road. Later I observed 3 Turkey Vultures at different times along the Nottawasaga River near Wasaga Beach. (2 could have been the same bird) Today, Thursday, March 18th at 12:30 in the flooded sod fields on McKinnon Road, over 40 Northern Pintails graced my view with their elegance. Other species were there, but beyond the reach of my bins. 3 Dark Morph Rough-legged Hawks soared, hung, glided and hovered effortlessly above 9292 between 30 to 1000m up. My lunch break is over too quickly.
