At approximately 6:40 pm this evening, in the flooded field along the south 
side of County Rd 3 between Wellington County 24 (Trafalgar Rd) and just west 
of 16th line of East Garafraxa, there were 13 Trumpeter Swans, along with a 
number of Pintails, American Black Ducks, a few Mallards, one Bufflehead and 
one American Wigeon. There were also a large number of Canada Geese. This field 
has been a traditional stopping spot for many early waterfowl migrants. In 
addition, at approximately 7:10 pm, 4 Sand Hill Cranes flew over Wellington 
County 24, just south of County Rd.22, south of Hillsburgh, flying in a north 
easterly direction. Last but not least, a Ruff Grouse was on the first driveway 
on the south side just west of 6th line and County Rd 17, also south of 
Hillsburgh. Hillsburgh is approx. 20 minutes south west of Orangeville.
