Sue and I were out for our afternoon walk on the Bronte pier chatting with another birder looking for the bird when the Yellow-throated Warbler scooted from the lake side to the marina side and perched in the open for a few milliseconds. The warbler flew back to the lake side a few minutes later. This was at 4 PM Saturday.

If anyone knows of any later records for this species I would be interested in knowing about them. As the other birder quipped soon it will be the earliest record.

I saw an adult Iceland Gull on the ice at the mouth of Bronte Creek this morning.

Directions: Exit the QEW at Bronte Road (Oakville), go to the lake and park just before Bronte Rd. ends by turning left at Ontario St. Walk out on the pier turning left just before the lighthouse. We were about halfway out when we saw the bird. Also accessible by Oakville Transit route 2 from the Bronte GO Station or route 14 from the Oakville GO Station.
