Hello Birders, Myself and Kyle Holloway were birding in the Niagara Falls and Niagara-on-the-Lake Area. Along with all the excitement of the gulls, there were some interesting non-Larids as well.
Besides the widely-reported gulls (check other posts for precise directions), there were also two PURPLE SANDPIPERS near the barge in the traditional location above the Falls, feeding on the rocks. Along Lakeshore Road, headed East, a RED-BELLIED WOODPECKER was observed near Niagara-on-the-Lake. It was moving around a lot. There were also several AMERICAN ROBINS present. A hen RING-NECKED PHEASANT was seen in a scrubby field along 4th Line Road. Good Birding, Lev Frid _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
