A bonanza of interesting gulls were on the roosting rocks as seen from Devil's Hole State Park (NY) between 3 and 4:30 pm. Only about 100 gulls total on the rocks but good diversity and turnover coming from the power plants. 1 THAYER'S GULL (first-winter) 1 THAYER'S GULL (second-winter) 4 ICELAND GULL (first-winter) 2 ICELAND GULL (second-winter) 1 LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL (first-winter) 1 LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL (second-winter) (stunning!!!) 1 small Herring Gull, compact-bodied and seeming only 3/4 the size of other Herrings More Iceland Gulls and several LeBB were at the power plants. No sign of the presumed Herring x LeBB hybrid. Dave W. Buffalo, NY
