Ontbirders,
A friend of mine yesterday emailed me some photos of an unfamiliar bird
he'd just seen in his yard in Moonbeam Ontario. I'd also never seen it
before but Sibley's Field Guide shows it to be unmistakably a Gray-crowned
Rosy Finch.

Moonbeam is a small town in northern Ontario, 15 or so miles east of
Kapuskasing on highway 11 (the Northern Route of the Trans-Canada Highway)
at the intersection of highway 581. This particular sighting was in the
vicinity of 581 and St. Joseph Rd.
It's turning into quite a year for western visitors.
