Observation start time: 08:00:00
Observation end time: 14:00:00
Total observation time: 6 hours

Official Counter: Colin Horstead

Observers: Eric Single, Jim Dunn, Kathy, Keith Sealy, Mary Carnahan,
                  Ronnie Goodhand, Wayne Parnall

Weather:
Almost a repeat of yesterday's weather with light SW winds eventually dying
out to calm. Temp still above normal for this time of year hitting a high
of 17C. Solid cloud cover for the entire day.

Raptor Observations:
A small flight today with just 29 birds total. The only real highlight was
a low flying Golden Eagle just before noon (11:40 a.m.).

Non-raptor Observations:
A highlight today (for those that track them) was a single Monarch spotted
as it passed the hawkwatch. The passerine flight was nowhere near that of
yesterday with much smaller flocks of 40-50 birds at a time. Good numbers
of Sparrow were noted: Song, White-throated and Field...both species of
Kinglet...Brown Creeper, Am. Pipit (50+), Horned Lark, Eastern Bluebird and
a small flock of Cedar Waxwings

Predictions:
NE winds for Wed. may get a few more raptors moving...as long as the rain
holds off or moves east quickly.
