This morning, Doug McRae, Sarah Petrasek and myself saw a Purple Sandpiper on
the north shore of Gull Island at Presqu'ile Provincial Park. The Purple was
foraging with large numbers of Dunlin, with White-rumped and Pectoral
Sandpipers and a few Sanderlings mixed in. Large Snow Bunting flocks flying
about the area contained up to two Lapland Longspurs. The next access to Gull
Island will be next Tuesday. See Fred Helleiner's weekly report for a full
access schedule.
Presqu'ile is located south of Brighton and the way to the park is well-signed
from Highway 401.
