Observation start time: 07:30:00
Observation end time: 14:00:00
Total observation time: 6.5 hours

Official Counter: Justin Bosler

Observers: Jim McCoy, Olga Klekner

Visitors:
Jim McCoy and Olga Klekner were out to help spot, which became a tough job
with so few raptors flying. I had to bring the day's quota of Sharpies per
person down to 5 from 10 just so my helpers wouldn't have to spend the
night ;). Dennis Patrick stopped by briefly in the afternoon.

Weather:
Mostly cloudy to overcast skies with South-southwest to Southwest winds at
1 to 7 mph. Winds becoming dead calm for a period in the early PM. Temps.
ranged from 12.3 to 16.5C. Visibility reduced to about 10 km by persistent
haze.

Raptor Observations:
Exceedingly slow day for the most part. Excluding the 1200 to 1300 (EST)
hour, which had a number of vultures, there was an average of about two
raptors, almost exclusively Sharpies, per hour.

Non-raptor Observations:
14 species of waterfowl,

Black-crowned Night-heron- 4 juv.,
Great Egret- 12,
Common Moorhen- 1,

Killdeer- 14,
Wilson's Snipe- 2,

Chimney Swift- 10-12 (still around),

Belted Kingfisher- 1f (first since 13 Oct),

Red-headed Woodpecker- 1 juv. (eastbound)
Hairy Woodpecker- 1,

Horned Lark- 2,040,

Tree Swallow- 100+,
N. Rough-winged Swallow- 5,

Blue Jay- 1,200 (2x2 count),
Am. Crow- 296,

Eastern Bluebird- 2+ (one group heard but overtaken by EUST flock),

Am. Robin- 380,

Am. Pipit- 50,
Cedar Waxwing- 358,

Eastern Meadowlark- 1,

Purple Finch- 12,
House Finch- 38,
Am. Goldfinch- 2,410.

Predictions:
Overcast skies with rain likely. Rain turning to drizzle by early PM.
East-southeast winds at 15 to 20 mph. High of 13C. Chance of rain is 100%.
There won't be much of anything flying tomorrow.
