Around 2:15 this afternoon I spent 20 minutes at Jones Beach, Port Weller, St. Catharines. There were 17 Brant feeding with 30 or so Canada Geese in the grassy backyards of the condos along the waters edge.
To reach Jones Beach exit the QEW at Niagara Street and drive north to Lakeshore Road. Proceed east and cross over Lock 1 of the Welland Canal. Immediately past the lift bridge continue one block past Broadway Avenue (now a one way street) to Seaway Haulage Road. Turn left and wind down to Jones Beach and the Lake Ontario shoreline.
