Claude Radley manned the Tower during the 0700 to 0800 (EST) hour prior to my arrival, and Dorothy McCleer stopped by for the final hour. Weather: Partly to mostly cloudy skies with South-southwest to South winds at 6 to 12 mph. Temps. ranged from 7.5 to about 14C. Visibility fair with little to no improvement. Raptor Observations: A very slow day highlighted by a steady trickle of vultures and one of each regularly occurring falcon species. Non-raptor Observations: 14 species of waterfowl, Black-crowned Night-heron- 2, Great Egret- 8, Common Moorhen- 2+, Killdeer- 10, Pectoral Sandpiper- 3, Wilson's Snipe- 2, Chimney Swift- 6, Blue Jay- 1,810, Am. Crow- 60, Horned Lark- 10 Am. Pipit- 55, Cedar Waxwing- 64, Indigo Bunting- 1, Eastern Meadowlark- 2, Purple Finch- 7, Am. Goldfinch- 340. Predictions: Mostly cloudy skies with Southwest winds at 5 to 10 mph. High of 15C.
