Visitors:
Richard Carr from Leamington, ON; Ryan and Bob Sokolowsky from Livonia, MI;
Alan and Marilyn Scase, Leamington, ON; a wonderful couple from Leamington
who brought hot soup for the site coordinator and qualified observers, and
several other visitors from the Essex County area.
Weather:
6 - 9 degrees C, northerly winds in the 12 - 24 km/hr range, partly cloudy
to full cloud by mid-afternoon.
Raptor Observations:
Steady flow of Turkey Vultures with Red-shouldered and Red-tailed mixed in
the flocks; 5 Northern Goshawk, including an adult; and 4 Golden Eagle.
Non-raptor Observations:
Steady flow of Blue Jays and Crows in a.m.; other birds of note were 3
Common Nighthawk in migraion and 2 American Bitterns flying around the
marsh in the late afternoon.
Predictions:
A sunny day with temperatures between -2 and 8 degrees C, with 10km/hr
winds out the North and North West that should result in another good
migration day.
