Weather: Overcast skies with some drizzle by mid-PM. Light Northeast and East-northeast winds at 1 to 7 mph shifting to Southeast and increasing slightly to 5 to 10 mph. Temps. ranged from 5.6 to 10.8C. Visibility fair to good. Raptor Observations: Continued flight of vultures way off to the North. Few other raptors moving today. Non-raptor Observations: 13 species of waterfowl, Great Egret- 10, Black-crowned Night-Heron- 4 (2 subad., 2 juv.), Common Moorhen- 4 (lingering), Bald Eagle- 3 locals, Killdeer- 5, Caspian Tern- 1, Much better passerine day in comparison to yesterday. Many new arrivals overnight, especially kinglets and sparrows. Yellow-bellied Sapsucker- 3, Tree Swallow- 400, N. Rough-winged Swallow- 35+, Blue Jay- 15,850, Am. Crow- 45, Red-breasted Nuthatch- 2, Golden-crowned Kinglet- 20+, Ruby-crowned Kinglet- 6, Am. Pipit- 45, Cedar Waxwing- 35, Blue-headed Vireo- 3, Warblers noted include Nashville(2), Yellow-rumped(40+), Black-throated Green(1), Palm(2), Wilson's(1), and Common Yellowthroat(1). Big influx of sparrows overnight: Chipping Sparrow- 4, Field Sparrow- 1, Lincoln's Sparrow- 1, Swamp Sparrow- 15, White-throated Sparrow- 35, White-crowned Sparrow- 3, Dark-eyed Junco- 5, Rusty Blackbird- 20, Purple Finch- 37, Pine Siskin- 2, Am. Goldfinch- 1,540, Predictions: A mix of sun and cloud with North-northwest to North winds at 10-15 mph. High of 10C.
