The only other visitor was my girlfriend, Rachael Sussman, visiting from PA. Weather: Mostly clear to overcast skies with rain showers moving in by mid-AM. Gusty Southwest winds at 15 to 35 mph turning more West-southwest by noon. Temps. ranged from 12 to 14.5C. Count terminated early due to continuous rain, gale force winds, and lack of migrating raptors. Raptor Observations: Not much flying today with scattered rain showers across the region and high, counter-productive Southwest winds. Non-raptor Observations: Not much of note aside from about 1,200 Blue Jays that insisted in migrating despite the miserable conditions. 1 "Traill's" Flycatcher observed late morning. Predictions: Overcast to mostly cloudy skies with scattered rain showers. Strong West-northwest winds switching to Northwest by mid-to late AM. High of 14C. Chance of rain showers around 70%. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Justin Bosler ([email protected]) Holiday Beach Migration Observatory information may be found at: http://hbmo.org/ _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
